TTD Cuts Deep, but Its Talent Won’t Stay Available for Long
The Trade Desk has laid off roughly 15% of its global workforce, impacting more than 500 employees following slower growth, disappointing earnings, and continued pressure on its stock.
The company described the move as a reallocation of resources rather than a response to financial distress, pointing to its $1.5 billion in cash and lack of debt.
In my opinion, TTD employees are some of the most desirable talent in the market. These are people who helped build one of AdTech’s biggest success stories. Many will land on their feet quickly, and I have no doubt others will use this moment to launch some of the next great companies in our industry.
Higgsfield’s Rapid Rise Shows AI Creative Is Going Mainstream
Higgsfield has reached a $5.4 billion valuation by helping brands and creators produce more advertising content faster and at a significantly lower cost. The platform combines roughly 30 AI models for everything from product imagery to complete video ads, attracting more than 361 million visits during the first seven months of 2026.
Sam Khoury, co-founder and chief strategy officer at Marketecture Media, said AI is removing traditional production limits: “Now infinite creative can be made.”
But greater scale also requires greater responsibility. Khoury added that brands must prioritize “full disclosure to your consumer that this is an AI-generated ad to not deceive them.” While concerns around authenticity and job displacement remain, nearly every advertiser and marketer is now exploring how generative AI fits into their workflow.
Beyond the Genre: Why Content Intelligence Matters in CTV
Better content intelligence creates more transparency, smarter buying decisions, and a clearer understanding of what CTV inventory is actually worth.
For years, CTV has relied on broad labels like “sports” or “entertainment,” but that does not tell advertisers enough about where their ads actually ran. Understanding the specific program, episode, rating, theme, talent, and whether something is truly live gives brands much better context.
This is not just valuable for advertisers. It helps publishers demonstrate the value of their content and gives premium inventory a better chance of attracting the revenue it deserves, especially given the high cost of producing or acquiring quality programming.
I genuinely loved this interview with Bill Condon, Head of Global Advertising Sales at Gracenote, and I think you will too. We discuss all of this on the podcast.
Actionable Raises $10 Million to Understand Why Customers Leave
Actionable has raised $10 million to expand into the U.S. and improve its AI-powered customer experience platform. The company combines CRM, CDP, and operational data to identify what causes customers to become frustrated, stop buying, or leave altogether.
What makes this interesting is the use of industry-specific context. Raw data and general-purpose LLMs are not enough. AI needs to understand what actually matters within each business before it can produce useful answers.
I also like how this connects customer experience directly to marketing. If brands can identify frustration before someone churns, they can respond with better service, more relevant messaging, or a timely offer. That moves AI beyond reporting and gives brands a real opportunity to improve retention and revenue.
The Data Drop

You Wanted Cheaper Streaming. You Got More Ads. You’re Welcome.
If streaming feels more like traditional TV lately, the data backs it up. Ad minutes per hour across major U.S. streaming services increased 18% between January and August, according to Ampere Analysis.
Rising subscription prices are pushing more consumers toward cheaper, ad-supported plans, giving streamers another source of revenue. The risk is increasing ad loads to the point where streaming starts to feel like traditional cable again.
But I’m AdTechGod, so naturally, I’m a huge fan of ads. Aren’t you?
